Currently, there are no regulations regarding the "minimum darkness" of personal car window tint. Installing 60% or 80% tint is not illegal or a violation of the Motor Vehicle Act, as laws related to window tint were abolished since 2543 BE (some sources state 2544 BE).

However, avoid "mirror/reflective tint" because this type of tint can interfere with the vision of other road users and violates the Motor Vehicle Act B.E. 2522, Section 12, which states that vehicles must not be fitted with additional parts that are dangerous to other road users.
